DAY 9: BETTER DAYS

The title track of our album, Better Days, is a song that had a pretty unique inception. It all started when Glen started playing a cool riff on his violin during a sound check. It caught Zack’s ear, and we vowed to make it a song at some point. With some minor structural changes to the hook, the melody kind of came pretty easily. It’s nice when songs just put themselves together. After playing this song as well as some other ones from the album during live shows, this one is clearly a fan favorite.

As for the video, we knew we wanted this to be part 3 in the trilogy of videos after “Troubled Soul” and “Feel That Fire.” But we also wanted the idea to involve hope and love. Due to this unique, specific challenge, the final video idea didn’t come to us until the day before our video shoot. We had bounced around several ideas for weeks but nothing really felt right. We were out at dinner the night before our shoot when the final idea came to us. We thought it was pretty funny, and we figured we hadn’t done a video like this before, so why not give it a shot! And after Zack’s explosive experience with the book and Nick’s journey with the fire trail, we figured it was now Glen’s turn to conclude what happens with the mysterious briefcase and book. Enjoy!
