DAY 1: wake me up
It was a no brainer for us to cover “Wake Me Up.” Not only is it one of the biggest songs of the last decade, but even without that, it’s an awesome song. One challenge for us was how to convey the same high energy that Avicii’s recording has. We don’t know about you, but we felt that this song had a sort of fiddle/grassroots feeling despite all of the electronic sounds. So we decided to give it an even more country feel and really play this song in a fiddle style. Maybe it’s the slapping bass or the fiddling violin. But either way, this arrangement of ours has hit the hearts of millions of people all over the world. This is our most viewed music video, and for a long time we didn’t really know why. We still don’t think we fully know why, but many people have told us that the song and the location makes this one of our best videos. We filmed this at ‘Saguaro Lake’ in Arizona. We have been going to this lake our entire lives and have many fond memories here. It was awesome to shoot a music video here, and we hope you enjoy it!
